Theology?
We believe that anyone who thinks about their faith is a theologian and therefore that theology is an activity open to all.
Community Theology?
The magnet aims to become a recognised centre for community theology. By this we mean Christian theology that is deeply rooted in, and responsive to, the life situations of people in their community. For us this means the district in and around Hastings and St Leonard’s, and indeed East Sussex as a whole.
Community Theology Group?
These are groups of up to twelve, or so, individuals that commit to each other for a period of a year at a time to engage in theological enquiry, looking in a sustained and structured way at an area of common interest or concern. Meeting, say, monthly the group will set themselves ‘homework’, invite speakers and draw on the resources of the magnet to advance critical thought, practical action and prayerfulness with a view to tackling difficult issues and finding helpful ways forward.
